I’ve been saving up a few of the weddings that I shot this fall to blog on the new website.  Well, the new website is here and so this is the first of a couple weddings yet to be blogged!

Patrick and Ioli were married on Halloween – how cool is that?!  I was absolutely in love with every part of their wedding – from Ioli’s amazingly gorgeous hair & makeup and her fantastic dress and jewelry, to the unique and artistic flowers and details , to the spectacular Saint Sophia Cathedral in NW DC to the dazzling reception at Halcyon House in Georgetown – my head was spinning from all the fabulousity!

I second shot Patrick & Ioli’s wedding with Kelsey, of kthompson photography and we had a blast together, as always!

And of course, for a Halloween wedding, it’s only appropriate to have a few fun costumes!

The Greek dances were fantastic!  You couldn’t help but get swept up in the festivity of it all!

As the night wore on, everyone really got into it – I love this shot of Patrick & Ioli just having the time of their lives!

Meredith & Denis are getting married in July at the beautiful Meadowlark Gardens, so for their engagement shoot, they really wanted something with some city!  Denis (the s is silent and the i sounds like “eee” – just pretend you’re French while you say it – and yes, it does sound really cool, doesn’t it!?!) lives in France (so jealous!) and came all the way over for some wedding planning and picture taking.  We headed out on a really chilly, but sunny afternoon to U St and had a great time!

We started at – yes, believe it – the Love Cafe, where the cupcakes are sooo delicious!  Then, we headed out down the street, braving the cold!

Once Meredith & Denis were sufficiently freezing cold, we popped into this cozy little bar called Polly’s for some hot chocolate.  Cici, the owner, was there and was so sweet!  I think we’ll all be going back to Polly’s again sometime soon!

Nothing like some cuddling by the fire…

So, I’m sure that by now you’ve realized exactly what I did after about 5 minutes with them – Denis & Meredith are so cute together!  They laugh and have such a good time – they are some of the most photogenic people ever and are so much fun to spend time around.  It’s pretty clear how much they belong together!

Yes, we ran into traffic for this shot and yes, I nearly got run over by a big truck with a DC parks logo on it.  But, it was definitely worth it!

Congratulations guys!  I hope you had fun and I can’t wait for the wedding!

Vivian turned one year old in December and I was the lucky photographer who got to be there for it!  I can’t believe how much this little girl has grown up from her 3-month and 8-month shoots!  Vivan is just full of giggles and laughs and she entertains me endlessly!  I can’t help but giggle from behind the camera – she is so adorable!

I had to start with this last shot, since it’s my favorite!

When Vivian changed into this outfit, she was so silly – she started doing this funny little scooting dance along the floor – she was clearly very amused!

During snack time, Viv had a very tart apple – look at her cute face!!

There’s nothing like a mom to make things better…

Vivian – it’s been such a joy to get to watch you grow up!  I can’t wait for our next session!

Little Evan has grown so big!  I had such a nice time with him and his parents last year, when Evan was just 8 months.  And this year, I got to meet his extended family too! Evan is so full of energy and curiosity and excitement – we were all so entertained by him all morning!
