If you haven’t yet had a chance to check out United with Love, full of “fresh inspiration for DC-area weddings,” you really must do so! Juli & Nole have done an amazing job putting this together and it’s so refreshing to have a blog all about the area from Baltimore to the Shenendoah and everything in between! And of course, feel free to comment on Reyna + Matt’s real wedding feature while you’re there.
Kelly & Dan are two of the sweetest, nicest people that you will ever meet! I’ve enjoyed every minute that we’ve spent in person (check out their engagement session from April) and over the phone and I was so happy to see them so happy on their wedding day! Being a photographer, I meet so many really interesting people and when I come across folks like these, I can’t help but appreciate their graciousness, sincerity and cheerfulness. So Kelly & Dan – thank you guys for being so awesome!
These two lovebirds were married at a gorgeous old church in Chevy Chase, MD and then whisked all around DC, ending the day with a fabulous reception at Sequoia, right on the Georgetown waterfront. Kelly got ready at her cousin’s home in Chevy Chase with her bridesmaids and then she and Dan had a few minutes to themselves before they were due at the church.
Ceremony Location: Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church
Florist: Da Vinci’s Florist
Reception Location: Sequoia, Georgetown – Washington, DC

Love this shot of all these beautifiers at work on Kelly at one time!
It was so sweet when Kelly’s mom came in!
I loved how Kelly’s bridesmaids had these gorgeous and elegant dresses accompanied by all different and unique necklaces - très chic!
The flowers, by Da Vinci’s Florist, were just gorgeous. Gotta love those mango calla lillies!
Popping out the champagne!
I don’t normally post family formals on the blog but this shot of Kelly and her flower girl was just too cute!
Sequoia, looking gorgeous as always! I love shooting here because the staff are awesome (I mean, really awesome, I’m not just saying that) and no matter what the decor – grand or simple, dramatic or elegant – the space always looks amazing and everyone has a fantastic time.
Some of my favorite ever first dance shots. These two were so cute together with the smiling and the laughing and the googly eyes – just the way it should be! It couldn’t pick just one. Have I mentioned how excited I am for these guys?!
Okay, check out the little heart someone drew on the window behind the sweetheart table. Oh I love it!
Ok, so towards the end of the night, we were wrapping up and packing up our equipment to take to the car. I ran back upstairs to the main area to grab a couple more things and this is what was going on. How could I leave?! They are so cute! Talk about one very big, very happy family! Everyone should be so lucky!
Best wishes in all the world you guys! I know you will have an absolutely amazing and wonderful life together!
What better way to spend a drizzly afternoon than in a cozy living room with a bunch of fun and goofy kids?! I had so much fun with this family recently – these kids had me laughing hysterically the whole time with all their crazy antics. After some great family portraits in some chilly overcast weather, we headed inside to relax. Grace promptly changed into her best princess costume, which is something I think we should all do more often. Aidan turned on some great Irish tunes and showed me his amazing dancing. And after Ian & Kellan, the twin boys, had their dinner, they cast off their shirts, as babies love to do, and turned on the charm! And seriously, just try to resist those adorable chubby smiles
These two little guys look soooo alike – I don’t know how their parents tell them apart – I sure can’t!
Laura & Gerry’s recent wedding at Temple Sinai in Washington DC was such a beautiful blending of families and traditions! These two clearly have such love and devotion to their friends and family, who so rejoiced in their big day. I loved the combination of the ketubah signing and ceremony in the gorgeous temple followed by a cocktail hour complete with a guacamole bar and mariachi band followed by the horah danced in front of the fantastic Sol y Rumba band! The whole day was just beautiful, warm and absolutely delightful! Congratulations Laura & Gerry!
Ceremony and Reception Location: Temple Sinai, Washington DC
Planner: Elizabeth Leibundguth of Cherry Blossom Weddings
Catering: Provisions Catering
Band: Sol y Rumba Band
Laura & Gerry had a few moments to themselves before the wedding and I loved seeing the expressions on their faces as they greeted each other in their wedding digs!
Their ketubah is gorgeous! Their family was so emotional during the signing ceremony – it was so sweet to see!
And as the guests started to arrive, they were greated by this fabulous mariachi band – it gave the preparations such a festive feel!
Before the wedding ceremony began, Gerry slipped the veil over Laura’s head.
After the ceremony, Laura & Gerry had a few minutes to themselves for yichud and I thought the groomsmen guards were such a hoot!
There is nothing quite so fabulous as fresh guacamole!
This is such a sweet shot of Laura’s mom greeting her new son-in-law
For their table cards, Laura & Gerry made these really cute cards that showed photos of themselves at the location that was the name of the table. They’d added in cute little word bubbles with funny things in them – what a great idea!
Each guest had a tiny jar of bubbles to be used in just a little bit….
Every first dance should have bubbles!
I was very thankful for my height during these next few shots!
