Hi, Dana here! Last weekend, LaDonna braved the drizzling rain and humidity to meet me at the beautiful grounds of St. Francis Hall at the Franciscan Monastery in DC. The scenery there is absolutely stunning and we both especially loved all the roses in bloom. LaDonna was gorgeous, arriving with her hair and makeup looking perfect, and was such a joy to work with! After a little while in the gardens, we headed back to the studio for a little indoor time and enjoyed a delicious red velvet cupcake to reward ourselves for all our hard work!

I shot this gorgeous DC wedding last year for Jenni from Studio Diana, who is always such a pleasure to work with! The day was beautiful and this quintessential Washington, DC wedding on the roof of the Newseum was just so amazing and fun, I loved it! I haven’t had a chance to blog a few favorites before now, so this is old news, but enjoy all the same!
The bride & groom got ready at the fun and colorful Hotel Monaco in downtown DC.

The details were amazing and the view from the rooftop at the Newseum is absolutely to die for!

She is gorgeous!

As the sun set behind the Washington monument, the bride was a bit overcome with emotion, preparing to walk down the aisle.
So, for those Studio Juno clients who were married in the second half of 2010, you’ve already had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous and fabulous Dana Morgan, who is now an associate shooter with the studio! Dana shot all our weddings with me from July through the end of the year and did an amazing job. I have absolutely loved getting to know her and working with her and I know that all of our clients are going to love her too!

Dana has a flair for the dramatic, combined with an innate sense of subtle individualities. She is a Performance Coordinator at Children’s Hospital some days, a concert pianist some nights and a fantastic photographer the rest of the time – I don’t know where she gets her energy, but we really appreciate her bringing her talents to Studio Juno!
We’re also really excited to announce that Dana is now offering boudoir sessions in our studio, right downtown near Union Station. Every session is fun and relaxed and customized to the style you love – whether that’s fun & flirty, whimsical & romantic or downright sexy & dramatic. It’s all about making you feel comfortable, having fun and bringing out your most beautiful self! We can schedule sessions in the evening or on weekends, whenever your schedule permits – no need to wait for a pre-scheduled marathon. Below are just a few photos from recent sessions. You can view more examples at www.studiojuno.com/boudoir. Boudoir packages begin at $200. Email Leah at leah@studiojuno.com for more info!

Katherine + Allen met up on a chilly fall day recently for their engagement session. They live in Virginia and the idea of an urban setting in their home state really appealed to them – and where in NoVA is more “downtown” feeling than Rosslyn? We started for a drink and then jumped all around the town. And everywhere we went, Allen had Katherine laughing hysterically – madly even! I couldn’t help but laugh along with them and the time went so fast, I couldn’t believe when the sun was already setting! Can’t wait for the wedding in April – I’ve no doubt it will be an incredibly joyful day!

I have rarely met two people who are more cheerful, enthusiastic and just all-around delightful than Marie + Johnny. These two are so bright, genuine and jolly (yes, really, jolly) – I feel like it would be impossible not to feel happy in their presence! Watching them together is such a joyful thing. During their wedding, it was so evident how perfect they are for each other and how obvious that is to all their family and friends. They got married the day after Thanksgiving in Washington, DC. The weather was really icky – just dreary and overcast and cold. But Marie + Johnny weren’t phased in the last – they had such a wonderful time and kept each other perfectly warm for a few outdoor shots. Marie got ready at Capitol Hill Suites and then walked across the street to St. Peter’s Cathedral to get hitched.

She’s soooo gorgeous!

Checking out the super fabulous shoes…

Since it was so overcast that day, St. Peter’s was a bit darker than usual, but it worked so well with all the gorgeous white and green decorations – everything felt so cozy, warm and festive.

Absolutely the cutest little posse of flowergirls and ring bearers that ever was! I love the ivy in the pew adornments and the flower girl’s crown – they were so perfect with the atmosphere. Marie’s mom put together all the arrangements – it’s great to have a florist in the family!

They are so freaking happy, I absolutely love it!

We headed over to the Grand Atrium, in Vienna, Virginia for the reception – it looked stunning all lit up as the sun set!

I’m in love with this cake – so interesting and unique and unadorned – truly an example of “less is more!” It was made by Margie of Artistic Cake Creations.

Marie dancing with her father in law – so sweet!

Congratulations you married people!
