I had an absolute blast recently with Vicki and Mike for a “day-after” / “trash the dress” session in the Georgetown area of DC! It’s amazing what fun shots you can get with a couple of hours to play around! Vicki is awesome – after she and Mike got lots of great photos together, she wanted to stress her dress, so we headed down to the Potomac River for a little wading through the waters – so fun!

I met Christine + Justin recently in downtown DC for a fun session running around U St. We started at Tabaq for a drink and then headed out. The weather kept threatening thunderstorms, so we were prepared to duck into the closest bar, but luckily, it never rained! I loved Christine’s dress – so colorful and fun! These two are so sweet and easy to be around – can’t wait for the wedding at Dumbarton House in September!

This was a sort of funny moment, but I loved the energy in the shot!

We headed back to Justin + Christine’s house for some photos in their gorgeous backyard with their adorable dogs!

Beth & Ben had the most gorgeous and heartfelt ceremony at Woodlawn Manor in Sandy Spring, MD. It was a bright, beautiful, sunshine-y day and everything felt so fresh and full of summer! Beth & Ben are super easy-going people who just love to laugh with their friends and their joy really infused the whole day! And thank you, as always, to my second photographer Dana, who always does an amazing job!
Venue: Woodlawn Manor
Wedding Planning: Simply Vintage Events
Caterer: Windows Catering

Beth & Ben had old family photos arranged around the manor – it was such a wonderful personal touch!

Beth and her honorary bridesmaids – what a great idea!

Dana and I loved these little pixie straws they had for the specialty cocktail – lemonade, muddled mint, vodka & club soda – yum!

Lawn games at the cocktail hour? Excellent!

Are these not the most beautiful salads you have ever seen!?

And instead of a cake, they had an ice cream buffet, which was absolutely perfect for the hot weather!

If you’ve never been hiking at Sugarloaf Mountain in Dickerson, MD – you must go! It’s stunningly gorgeous there and so close to the DC area. Laura & Ryan, wise and worldly as they are, know all about Sugarloaf and chose this gorgeous spot for their engagment photos. After days of ominous weather forecasts, the sun came peeking out and the day was beautiful! We drove all over the mountain, stopping here and there for photos. Laura and Ryan are such sweet, fun people – you can’t help but have a good time around them. And their little poodle is just about the cutest thing you ever did see, no kidding!

We dropped by the grounds of Stronghold Mansion for a few quick shots. It’s so gorgeous there, you could spend the whole day!
Katherine + Allen met up on a chilly fall day recently for their engagement session. They live in Virginia and the idea of an urban setting in their home state really appealed to them – and where in NoVA is more “downtown” feeling than Rosslyn? We started for a drink and then jumped all around the town. And everywhere we went, Allen had Katherine laughing hysterically – madly even! I couldn’t help but laugh along with them and the time went so fast, I couldn’t believe when the sun was already setting! Can’t wait for the wedding in April – I’ve no doubt it will be an incredibly joyful day!
